FROM THE CREATORS
It was in March 2025, in Nosara, Costa Rica, that the idea for AWŪ first emerged. A trip among friends, a breath of elsewhere. The warm wind slipping through the palm trees revealed another way of living: slower, more conscious, more grounded. We realized that travel isn’t just a matter of distance, but rather an inner state, a way of inhabiting the moment, a presence in the world.
That journey never really ended. We brought it back with us. From that suspended moment grew a shared desire: to recreate, here, a place that carries that very state of mind.
AWŪ, WHISPERED BY NATURE
The term “Awu” is inspired by the volcano of the same name, perched on the island of Sangir in Indonesia, known for its altitude and imposing presence. At certain periods in its history, it even held a crater lake. Fed by heavy rainfall, this lake revealed the presence of water at the summit and embodied the idea of elevation: not only physical, but spiritual as well. Like the suspended pools on our rooftops, water becomes a mirror of the sky, an offering of renewed freshness at the top.
The brand is rooted in this very breath: reconnecting with what moves us, rekindling our appetite for what nurtures us, creating spaces of connection, and merging elevation with water to offer a sensory and inspiring experience.
